# How to generate a HCP statement for a client?

## Generate a HCP statement

To enable a Client to have HCP Statements generated against them, they need to first:

* Be marked as HCP Funded in their profile's Edit Funding Information section

* Have a valid HCP Statements Start Date. This is the first date the Client's statements will begin on.

* Have a valid Home Care Package Entry History item. Each item contains the Client's Home Care Package level, along with data on any selected supplements, fees, and charges, and the date the entry applies from.

  Within the Participant Profile Funding Information is the option to View Package entry history;

A Client's first HCP Statement will start on the date specified in their HCP funding section. Subsequent statements will use the end date of the most recent statement.

Once you have made sure the client has this relevant information, you can click on Statements and select Preview next statement or Generate next statement. This will let you either preview the client's individual statement or generate the client's individual statement.

To generate statements for all clients, you can go to Participants → HCP Funding → Statements and click on Finalise Incomplete Month. A month is listed as incomplete if the current month is past that month and there are statements missing from that month. Months are finalised one at a time in order from earliest to latest.

This will show the suggestions for the clients that will be included in the finalisation. Already finalised clients will not be shown in this preview.

For each statement suggestion you can click ![](https://s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/aus-cdn.freshdesk.com/data/helpdesk/attachments/production/51033543928/original/Yzxlm53hwwisDffMAboHxkcYGQuM6gf4Sg.png?1638496230) to be shown a preview of exactly how the statement is going to look when generated.

When ready after viewing the preview you can click ![](https://s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/aus-cdn.freshdesk.com/data/helpdesk/attachments/production/51033544041/original/3cJDPiw1Y5Pqr55ZpVsTOsKp4k1HPuwjgQ.png?1638496285) to start the statement generation process. So you can keep doing other things, the statement generation occurs in the background. You will be notified with a notice at the top of the page when the process is complete.

## Exited Participants Final HCP Statement

Once a participant has been marked as Exited, the words Final Statement will appear in the Preview when generating statements for the month in which that participant was exited. If the participant exited part way through the month, only those days up to the exit date will be included in the statement.
