DEX Stage 3 Reporting Changes

As part of the Australian Government’s DEX Stage 3 reporting requirements, new options are now available in TRIPS to help you manage which optional data is included in your Data Exchange (DEX) exports.

Manage DEX Data Preferences

A new Manage DEX Data Preferences option is now available under Services > Data Exchange.

From here, you can choose which optional data you would like to send to the Data Exchange by using the available toggles.

The available options include:

• Trip times – sends the time the client spends in the vehicle, from pick-up through to drop-off.
• Trip distances – sends the distance travelled while the client is in the vehicle.
• Engagement time – sends the time the client spends outside of the vehicle during loading and unloading.

Mandatory DEX fields will always be included and cannot be disabled. This data is automatically determined by the selection made for the “Employment type” field on a driver profile. These include:

1. IsSubcontractorDelivered
2. IsVolunteerDirectService

New Engagement Time Field

A new Engagement Time field has also been added to the booking verification page.

Engagement time is calculated based on the loading and unloading steps recorded through the Driver App.

If you would like to collect engagement time data, the “Enable or disable loading and unloading steps in the Driver App” setting must be enabled in Driver App Settings.

Once enabled, drivers will be able to record the relevant loading and unloading steps, allowing engagement time to be captured automatically and, if enabled in DEX Data Preferences, included in your DEX reporting.

Managing Your DEX Data

These new settings give you control over which of the optional Stage 3 data fields are included in your DEX exports. You can update your preferences at any time based on the data you wish to provide to the Data Exchange.
