## Overview

The **Pre and Post Departure Inspection Checklist** feature in the Driver App helps improve vehicle safety, compliance, and maintenance tracking.

With this feature you can:

* Create **custom pre-departure** and **post-departure checklists**
* Choose different response types (checkbox, radio button e.g. Yes/No)
* Allow drivers to provide **open text feedback**
* Automatically email feedback to nominated recipients
* Run a report on all responses using the **Custom Report Builder**

## Step 1: Set Up Driver Feedback Recipients (Optional but Recommended)

If you would like driver feedback emailed to specific people:


1. Go to **Organisation Settings**
2. Select **Driver App Settings**
3. Locate **Driver Feedback Recipients**
4. Enter the email address(es) of the person/people who should receive feedback notifications
5. Save your changes

> Important: Emails are only sent when a driver enters open text feedback. If no feedback is entered, no email will be triggered.

## Step 2: Create Your Pre and Post Departure Questions

To configure your checklists:


1. Go to **Organisation Settings**
2. Click **Manage Driver App Settings**
3. Scroll to:
   * **Pre-Departure Checklist**
   * **Post-Departure Checklist**
4. Click **Add** under the relevant section

### Creating a Question

When adding a question, you will:


1. Enter your **Question or Title**
2. Select the **Response Type**:
   * **Checkbox** (tick box)
   * **Radio Button**

If you choose **Radio Button**, you will then:

* Define the selectable options (e.g. *Yes / No*, *Pass / Fail*, *OK / Requires Attention*)

Click “Add” to save the question once complete.

Repeat this process to build out your full pre-departure and post-departure checklists.

You can update your checklist at any time:

* Click the **pencil icon** to edit an existing question
* Click the **X icon** to remove a question

Changes will apply moving forward and will be reflected the next time drivers complete their inspections.

## Step 3: How It Works for Drivers

Once configured:

* When a driver **signs in and starts a run**, they will be prompted to complete the **Pre-Departure Checklist**
* When a driver **ends their run**, they will be prompted to complete the **Post-Departure Checklist**

Drivers can:

* Select the required responses
* Enter optional open text feedback

If feedback is entered:

* The responses **and** the feedback will be emailed to the designated recipients.

If no feedback is entered:

* No email will be sent
* All responses are still stored in the system

## Reporting on Inspection Data

All checklist responses (with or without feedback) are stored in TRIPS and can be accessed via:

**Services > Custom Report Builder > JourneyFeedbackItems**

This allows you to:

* Review compliance
* Monitor recurring issues
* Track vehicle maintenance trends
* Identify safety concerns early
