# TRIPS Web - Editing and Deleting Vehicle Runs / Containers

To edit or delete a Vehicle Run / Container from the Vehicle Profile

# Recommended Way

**Step 1 -** From the main menu select *“Vehicles”.*

**Step 2 -** Once within the *“Vehicles”* page locate the vehicle you wish to edit or delete a run / container from by using the search field or alternatively scroll down the list. Click on the vehicle name to open the Vehicles profile.

**Step 3 -** From within the vehicles profile navigate to the *“Vehicle Schedule”* tab. Locate the vehicle run you wish to edit/delete. Once located click on the blue vehicle run / container block to open it. 
**PLEASE NOTE:** The vehicle run schedule tab view defaults to the current week and can be changed to a monthly view. Use the arrows to navigate to past or future weeks/months.

**Step 4 - To Delete**
Once selected the vehicle run / container form will open. Scroll to the bottom of the form and select *“Delete”*. A prompt will appear asking *“Are you sure?”*. Click *“Yes”* to finalise deleting the run / container.

The Vehicle Schedule view will refresh and a notification message will appear in the right hand corner advising *“Vehicle Run successfully deleted”*.
**PLEASE NOTE:** The Delete button will not appear if there are bookings allocated to the run / container. Bookings will need to be deallocated to allow deletion.

**Step 5 - To Edit**
Once selected the vehicle run / container form will open. Make the required changes. Then scroll to the bottom of the form and select *“Update Vehicle Run”*.

**PLEASE NOTE:** If the vehicle run is apart of a recurrence pattern and “Delete” is selected, only that vehicle run is deleted. The future recurrence pattern remains untouched.


# Alternate Method 1

## Edit or Delete a Vehicle Run / Container from the Drivers profile

### Step 1 - Navigate to the Driver Profile

From the main menu select *“Drivers > All Drivers”.*

**Step 2 -**  Once within the *“All Drivers”* page locate the Driver you wish to edit or delete the run / container from by using the search field or alternatively scroll down the list. Click on the Drivers name to open the Drivers profile.

**Step 3 -** From within the Drivers profile navigate to the *“Vehicle Schedule”* tab. Locate the vehicle run you wish to delete. Once located click on the blue vehicle run / container block to open it. 
**PLEASE NOTE:** The vehicle run schedule tab view defaults to the current week and can be changed to a monthly view. Use the arrows to navigate to past or future weeks/months.

**Step 4 - To Delete**
Once selected the vehicle run / container form will open. Scroll to the bottom of the form and select *“Delete”*. A prompt will appear asking *“Are you sure?”*. Click *“Yes”* to finalise deleting the run / container.

The Vehicle Schedule view will refresh and a notification message will appear in the right hand corner advising *“Vehicle Run successfully deleted”*.

**Step 5 - To Edit**
Once selected the vehicle run / container form will open. Make the required changes. Then scroll to the bottom of the form and select *“Update Vehicle Run”*.

**PLEASE NOTE:** 

* At this current time within the application when a vehicle run is rescheduled there is no reoccurrence chain created, the vehicle runs / containers stand alone. 
* If the vehicle run is apart of a recurrence pattern and “Delete” is selected, only that vehicle run is deleted. The future recurrence pattern remains untouched.
  

# Alternate Method 2

## Edit or Delete a Vehicle Run / Container from the Allocations Page

**Step 1 -** Select *“Allocations”* from the main menu.

**Step 2 -** Using the date field or arrows navigate to the date in which a change to the vehicle run is required.

**Step 3 -** From within the *“Vehicle Runs”* column locate the vehicle run in which a change is required and click on the Vehicle Run ID to open the *“Update Vehicle Run”* form.

**Step 4 -**
Make the required changes and Select *“Update Vehicle Run” to save the changes*. Alternatively select *“Delete”* to delete the vehicle run.

*  Drivers Will only appear in the Driver drop down menu for selection if they have Driver Availability entered. 
* If Bookings are allocated to the Run the *“Delete”* button will not appear. deallocate bookings prior.
* If the vehicle run is apart of a recurrence pattern and “Delete” is selected, only that vehicle run is deleted. The future recurrence pattern remains untouched.



# Recurring Vehicle Runs

A Vehicle Run that is part of a recurrence pattern will display a recurring icon in the top-right corner of the run/container within the Vehicle Schedule calendar on the Vehicle Profile. The rescheduling options will only appear once **“This is a regular/recurring vehicle run”** is toggled on.

## Editing a Recurring Vehicle Run / Container

Follow steps 1–5 using your preferred method outlined above.
**Step 6** – After making the necessary changes to the vehicle run, click the **Update Vehicle Run** button. A warning message will appear, giving you two options:

* **Save for this day and all future instances in this recurrence**, or
* **Save for this instance only, break the recurrence chain**.

Select the appropriate option and click **Confirm** to apply the changes.

## Deleting a Recurring Vehicle Run / Container

Use instructions outlined above to delete a vehicle run. 
**PLEASE NOTE:** If the vehicle run is apart of a recurrence pattern and **“Delete”** is selected, only that selected date within the recurrence will be deleted. The future recurrence pattern remains untouched. 

## Removing(Soft Deleting) a Recurring Vehicle Run / Container

**Step 1** – Using one of the methods outlined above, locate the vehicle run you wish to remove (soft delete) and open it.
**IMPORTANT:** Please ensure you do not select a date in the past. It must be day of or a day in the future. 

**Step 2** – Toggle off the **“This is a regular/recurring vehicle run”** option.

**Step 3 -** Click the **“Update Vehicle Run”** button to save your changes. The Vehicle Run window will close, and the Vehicle Schedule will refresh. All future runs in the recurrence pattern will be soft deleted. If you also need to remove the specific run you just edited, reopen it and select **“Delete.”**

**PLEASE NOTE:** Removing regular recurring run will deallocate any future bookings assigned to future runs.
