# Overview

Here you can update the application settings that effect how bookings are created within the application


### **Method of Determining Estimated Distance**

This setting determines if the estimated distance for a booking is calculated using the new Google Maps API response or by using an historical data (grabbing the latest estimated distance from the database).

### New Google Maps Estimation

This setting will estimate the distance of the booking from A to B via the Google Maps API, giving you accurate google map results. NOTE: It may give different results when creating a booking for that exact A to B calculations due to google maps traffic changes on the day.

### Historical Data

This setting will estimate distance of the booking from A to B via the last recorded travel time and distance from A to B. This was created so that is keeps the distance calculation exactly the same as before from A to B with no traffic variations of google maps. By using this setting, you can ensure that billing for clients remains consistent.

### **Distance Threshold Settings**

If using the historical data setting you can also set a distance threshold for distance differences between Google Maps and the stored historical distance. When creating a booking, the user will receive a warning if this threshold is exceeded.
