# Understanding CareMaster Licences

**What is a CareMaster license?**

A license allows a user to access their server via their unique log in credentials.

Each active staff member in the system will have access to their own dedicated licence for instant access to the CareMaster Web Portal and/or the CareMaster Worker App.

This ensures that no access restrictions limit your staff from their vital Admin and Coordinator functions or stopping a Worker accurately log in/out of a shift, add a critical Case Note or Incident by a Worker or even accessing key participant information and processes.
