TRIPS Web - Organisation Settings - How to set up SSO & SSO Only Invites

TRIPS allows users who have already been invited to the platform to log in using their Microsoft, Google, or Azure accounts. To use SSO, the email registered with Microsoft, Google, or Azure must match the email registered with TRIPS.

SSO Only Login Requirement

Restricting login to SSO only ensures that all users access the TRIPS web application exclusively via SSO, preventing login through any other method.

Admin Invitation

Step 1: A TRIPS Customer Success Specialist will invite one admin member from your organisation, granting them access to the TRIPS application via either:

  • SSO Only
  • SSO and TRIPS Login Credentials

Note: Allowing an admin user to access TRIPS through both SSO and TRIPS credentials ensures they retain access in case of issues with Microsoft. This admin will effectively have master admin access to the organisation.

If you’ve been invited to use both login methods, follow the email prompts to set up your TRIPS account, including completing the TRIPS Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) setup. Once done, the admin user can log in via SSO using the steps outlined below.

Inviting Team Members

Step 2: After setting up their access, the admin user can invite the rest of their team to the application by sending SSO-only invites. To do this, the admin user will need to log into the application as per below:

Steps to Log in and Manage Team Access

Step 3: On the TRIPS home page, enter your Provider Organisation PIN.

Step 4: Use one of the SSO authentication methods provided (see screenshot below).

You will be redirected to the SSO login page. If your Microsoft, Google, or Azure email matches a user in TRIPS, authentication will succeed. After logging in with SSO once, this method can be used for future logins.

Note: Additional customisation of SSO settings must be done within your organisation’s Google, Microsoft, or Azure configurations.

Step 5: After logging in successfully, navigate to:

  • Organisation Settings > Team Members > Add Member

Manage Team Members

Add Members

Here, you can:

  • Enter each team member’s email address.
  • Assign a role to the user.
  • Select SSO Only.

Step 6: Once invited, you will receive an email from TRIPS > click on the link provided in the body of the email to finish setting up your access (including setting up 2FA for TRIPS). As per below, you will need to enter your full name, email address and also a username (this can be firstname.lastname)

Step 7: Once access has been completed, you can follow steps 3 and 4 to login to the application moving forward.
