Create SaH Supports including Wraparounds & Transport
Creating supports for your Support at Home Participants requires a detailed understanding of the changes that Services Australia has made to;
- The Supports that can be used - a specific Supports Catalogue must be used
- The Budgets available for each participant
This process is designed to show you how to create a schedule of supports for your Support At Home participants utilising the latest support categories & types, as well as their underlying Business Functions and any required Wraparounds.
This process is specific to CareMaster and how to use the system to create your supports.
The Australian Government, Department of Health, Disability and Aging, Support At Home program has significant information you will need to know to be able to accurately create supports for your participants. Whilst CareMaster will provide a large amount of knowledge and resources, it is up to each provider to also understand the changes affecting them.

Transport
*Rules - Customers can be charged for a to or from Trip but not within the core service itself.
Any in-service transport should be included in the overall unit cost of the primary service booking.
There are a few ways to apply Transport services to your Participants.
-
Option 1 - Direct Transport
Charge the Participant with them in the car to get to and from the core Service activity.
Pay the worker for the KM’s to and from the core activity
-
Option 2 - Indirect Transport
Charge the Participant for In-Support transport ‘using a Voucher’ and pay the worker KM’s.
Taxi Voucher, Uber or Other
Option 1
Create a group Support
0900-0930 Taking the Participant to their main service activity - Use SaH-Home Support and Direct Transport
It will pay the Worker for the 30 mins and charge the Participant the Per Trip Unit Cost (set as $50 in this example)
And if you are paying your workers KM’s, also tick transport to prompt the worker to input their KM’s which transfers to their timesheet, if own car used.
This will not charge the participant for KM’s
0930-1230 Body of support - Group Social Support / Accompanied Activities
Use the Group or individual Service item as needed and input the duration.
The Quantity and Unit Cost will autofill based on their underlying inputs.
1230 - 1300 Returning the Participant home - Use SaH-Home Support and Direct Transport
Option 2 - Charge the Participant for In-Support transport ‘using a Voucher’
Create a group Support
Set the 1st support as the actual start time but apply the same end time. A Trip is charged as an Item so this wont have any time based charge.
In this example the Voucher is $50.00
Now create a 2nd support within the group for the core activity for the Participant
Review the Funding source as needed and add details if Yes to Delivered by a 3rd Party
Add a worker if needed.
Continue to add notes and save.
